THE FORMATION OF MODERN CONCEPTS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN WESTERN EUROPE IN THE II HALF OF XX - BEGINNING XXI CENTURY

Abstract The main features of the concepts of physical education which dominanted in Western Europe in the II half of the XX - beginning XXI centuries were studied. The analysis of publications on the content and targeting physical education in different countries in a given time interval was made. It is identified four main vectors: the traditional physical education, motor training, sports training and health education. There are four intermediate directions which reflect the diffusionof various concepts in the 1990 - 2000-th. The data obtained has allowed to identify promising ways of improving the organization of the motor activity of students.
