Abstract Development of creative capabilities of students of classic university status in the process of physical education is studied. Creative tasks are developed for research of creative potential of students with the use of elements of dancing aerobics. Levels of development of creative capabilities of students of classic university in the process of physical education are defined and characterized for every creative task. The form of optimization of process of physical education for development of creative capabilities of students is determined.
