Abstract Humanistic approach to the modeling of educational process in physical training at the institute of higher education is exposed in the article. The article defines new contents of key categories aimed at transformation of pedagogical consciousness and practice. The article positions the integrity of the student's physical culture formation as the basis of the humanistic-oriented model of education. The realization of the given model shows improved results of students' personality development in comparison with the traditional technocratic approach.
